Job Title: Flight Hardware Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Flight Hardware Design Engineer to join our team at Airbus CRISA in Tres Cantos, Madrid area. As a key member of our Technical Team, you will be responsible for designing and developing electronic units for flight equipment, ensuring delivery in accordance with project schedule, cost, and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Technical Manager in analyzing project requirements and developing electronic designs.
  • Conduct architecture analysis at electronic function or module level.
  • Design and develop electronic systems using electrical simulations and ensure robustness through part stress analysis, worst-case analysis, and failure modes and criticality analysis.
  • Collaborate with the Radiation Team to ensure design robustness in the radiation space environment, including Single Events Effects (SEE).
  • Document designs and develop laboratory and prototype testing procedures.
  • Work with the Packaging Team to ensure mechanical and thermal design robustness.
  • Support the PCB CAD team in reviewing PCB layouts and defining board test procedures.
  • Participate in main project reviews, including Requirement Review, Preliminary and Architecture Review, Critical Design Review, and Characterization of flight designs in clean room conditions.
  • Support the Test Team in accepting flight equipment and monitoring any changes, evolutions, or discrepancies from the agreed baseline in the characterization phase.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in engineering or science discipline.
  • Proven experience in developing Power, Analog, or Digital electronics.
  • Experience using advanced laboratory instrumentation.
  • Good knowledge of design methodologies for space applications and tools (Mentor, LTSPice, Matlab, SIMetrix-SIMPLIS).
  • Sound mathematical basis for electronic design analysis.
  • English and Spanish language proficiency (mid-level, both written and spoken).
  • Good communication and reporting skills.
  • Strong team working and cooperation spirit.
  • Independent and accurate work style.
Preferred Skills:
  • Digital mindset (automation of tasks, scripting, use of digital design tools and simulators).
  • Knowledge of space environment constraints.
  • Familiarity with Agile Methodologies.
  • Experience with Power & Analog electronics: designs using digital control techniques.
  • Experience with Digital electronics: designs based on hardware-software interfaces.
  • Fast prototyping techniques.
  • Will to learn and teach others.
