Position Title: Strategic Ingredient/API Particle Engineer

Role Overview
We invite you to join us in a dynamic, international setting that encourages both professional and personal growth. The Strategic Ingredient/API Process Scientist serves as a vital link between Galderma and our suppliers, focusing on the development of manufacturing processes, resolving technical challenges, overseeing validation activities, and assessing technical modifications for APIs. This role is crucial in addressing all API process-related inquiries and topics. As a Process Scientist, you will significantly influence the development and improvement of process materials, impacting the future of technology and material solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Expertise: Act as the technical authority for Strategic Ingredient/API processes, providing guidance on process development and addressing issues. Your expertise in process technologies (such as milling and sieving) and experience with powders and APIs will be essential. You will evaluate manufacturing setups, understand technology applications, and align product specifications with manufacturing processes.
- Material Testing and Characterization: Employ advanced techniques for material characterization and analysis, including particle size distribution techniques. You will design experiments and testing protocols to assess material properties in relation to API manufacturing processes.
- Product Stewardship: Identify and resolve API-related challenges in manufacturing and application. Stay informed about the latest developments in API manufacturing processes and provide technical leadership. You will also identify and implement process improvements aimed at cost reduction and efficiency enhancements.
- Risk Assessment and Troubleshooting: Participate in due diligence when selecting new API suppliers. Identify potential risks and challenges in manufacturing processes and develop strategies to mitigate them. Additionally, you will troubleshoot any API-related issues that arise during production or distribution.
- Significant experience in particle engineering, particularly with small molecules and APIs, ideally within a MS&T or similar department.
- Proficiency in various particle characterization techniques.
- Experience in scaling up processes.
- Formal qualification in continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean Six Sigma Green Belt).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Extensive knowledge of pre-formulation particle engineering and relevant cGMP requirements in a pharmaceutical context.
