Job Title: Strategic Ingredient/API Particle Engineer

Galderma is a leading dermatology company that is committed to advancing the field through innovation and science. We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Ingredient/API Particle Engineer to join our team in Barcelona.

About the Role

The Strategic Ingredient/API Particle Engineer will be responsible for developing and optimizing manufacturing processes for APIs, as well as evaluating technical changes and resolving technical challenges. This role requires strong knowledge of process technologies, including milling and sieving, as well as experience with powders and APIs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical expert for Strategic Ingredient/API process: Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for APIs, including milling and sieving.
  • Testing, characterization, qualification & spec setting for Strategic Ingredient/API source: Utilize advanced techniques for material characterization and analysis, including particle characterization and PSD techniques.
  • Product/technical stewardship: Identify and resolve API-related issues in manufacturing and application, and provide technical leadership.
  • Due diligence, risk Assessment and Troubleshooting: Participate in due diligence when selecting new API suppliers, and identify potential risks and challenges related to manufacturing processes.
Requirements
  • Strong years of experience in particle engineering, small molecule, API gained especially in MS&T or similar department experience.
  • Understanding in various particle characterization techniques.
  • Experience in process scale up.
  • Formal continuous improvement qualification (lean sigma green).
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data.
  • Extensive knowledge of pre-formulation particle engineering and associated cGMP requirements in a pharmaceutical environment.
