Job Summary:

Mentor Technical Group is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) professional to join our team. As an EHS Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, customers, and the environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and prepare reports on EHS system performance, including investigation reports, injury reports, insurance claims, and performance metric reports.
  • Ensure a safe work environment for all employees by identifying and mitigating hazards, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Participate in the investigation of incidents, near misses, and property damage incidents.
  • Conduct safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, company policies, and quality procedures.
  • Maintain internal and regulatory reporting, including data collection and reporting on air, storm water, and surface water discharge.
  • Ensure compliance with permits, government regulations, and industry practices.
  • Stay up-to-date on safety and environmental laws and regulations that impact the company.
  • Participate in manufacturing meetings to discuss workplace safety and regulatory concerns.
  • Act as a role model for company and client environmental, health, and safety standards.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with Operations, Managers, Supervisors, and employees.
  • Assist in the oversight of the Worker's Compensation program.
  • Promote excellent relationships with clients, encouraging open communication and trust.
  • Alert management to problems and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Comply with administrative requirements, including weekly reports, updating of CVs, and attendance records.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
  • Physical requirements include standing, walking, talking, hearing, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and smelling.
  • May be exposed to wet and humid conditions, odorous atmospheres, fumes, and electrical shock.
