At Otis, we strive to deliver exceptional products and services to our customers. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of our metal machining operations.
We are seeking a Commodity Supplier Quality Engineer - Metal Machining Specialist to join our team. This position can be located in one of our manufacturing facilities.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
- Supplier Management: Conduct regular audits and assessments of suppliers to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Quality Assurance: Participate in sourcing projects and new product development to ensure the right quality level of products.
- Claim Resolution: Lead the timely resolution of internal and external quality claims to achieve given KPIs.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other functions, including Engineering, Manufacturing, and Field, to accomplish objectives.
- Quality Tools: Utilize Otis quality tools and proceed according to company policies and procedures.
- Progress Reporting: Record progress and results in Otis QMSS (Otis electronic quality system).
- Communication: Regularly report to function and regional/global management on progress and results.
- Negotiation: Negotiate the application of necessary actions to external suppliers.
- Improvement Proposals: Propose improvements to Otis products for quality enhancement.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Education / Experience:
- A Bachelor's degree or Master of Science degree in mechanical or industrial engineering.
- Preferred prior experience in an industrial/engineering company from the production sector.
- Experience in the quality area, including quality issues resolution.
