About this role
The Jotelulu Product team is looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our customer-facing software team, manage our growing engineering team, and scale our codebase from thousands to millions of users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build a High-Performing Team: Foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
  • Scale Our Codebase: Help the team set and adopt best practices (continuous improvement, test-driven development, design patterns) and emerging technologies.
  • Manage Development Lifecycle: Oversee the entire software development process, from requirement gathering to design, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Define Vision and Roadmap: Work with the product team and stakeholders to define the technical roadmap, aligning it with business goals.
  • Communicate Effectively: Clearly convey technical decisions and progress to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements

  • Basic Qualifications:
    • 3+ years of engineering team management experience
    • 7+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams
    • 3+ years of experience designing or architecting systems, focusing on design patterns, reliability, and scaling
    • Experience partnering with product or program management teams
    • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and live-site operations
    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience communicating with users, technical teams, and senior leadership to gather requirements and describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
    • Experience recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching, and managing teams of software engineers to enhance their skills and effectiveness
    • Experience building and running a world-class product team at an early-stage B2B SaaS company
    • Deep technical experience in both private and public cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP, VMware, etc.)
