About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Casualty Insurance Specialist to join our team at Liberty Specialty Markets. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will play a critical role in supporting the growth of our Casualty business in our Madrid office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the underwriting team in pricing and assessing liability risks, following our risk appetite, Underwriting Guidelines, and Treaty framework.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with our brokers and clients, including LSM market relationships.
  • Deal with complex renewals, negotiating renewal terms and conditions with brokers, assessing exposure development, loss experience, and issuing referrals.
  • Stay up-to-date with all our in-house tools, including Rulebook, DOT, PowerBI, RFID, Peer Reviews, and Underwriting Authority Governance.
  • Handle all underwriting-related tasks, such as file completion, peer reviews, and participating in the IPR as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Appropriate university degree or higher education qualification (Law Degree preferably) or equivalent.
  • Understanding of insurance contracts with experience in Casualty underwriting, including large and complex risks, and a generic understanding of other liability lines.
  • Good level of communication skills, ability to assume responsibility, and experience of working against measurable performance targets.
  • Professional and confident approach with brokers and clients, showing initiative, autonomy, and proactiveness.
  • Organized and service-oriented, with a commitment and willingness to develop your professional career.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English, with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely in a professional manner.
