About the Role
The Delivery Manager UK will be responsible for ensuring the successful deployment of APIs, Services, and Tools designed by the Product Management team in the production environments of the Operating Businesses (OBs) in the UK.
Main Responsibilities
- Bring the Open Gateway project to the UK and establish a local vision aligned with global teams.
- Monitor and measure the success of the Open Gateway APIs/Services and define processes to deliver a local roadmap.
- Define the local vision of the Open Gateway project with local areas, identifying risks and dependencies to ensure compliance with expected time plans.
- Manage the legal, privacy, security, and billing tracks, coordinating with local legal, business, and management areas.
- Implement the Open Gateway Delivery Process in assigned OBs to ensure deliveries in bi-monthly releases.
- Support the Engineering and Operations areas of the OB, communicating the scope and definition of processes.
- Clearly communicate up-to-date project information in collaboration with OB Product Manager and PMO.
- Align and coordinate between multiple local units, facilitating communication between them.
- Responsible for weekly OB reports for main stakeholders.
Nature of Problems and Challenges
- Maintain an end-to-end view of a complex project with multiple stakeholders.
- Prevent misunderstandings, weak commitments, or procrastination from any team involved.
- Maintain the spirit of collaboration, trust, and teamwork with global and local teams.
- Ensure appropriate coordination and communication with relevant teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Address barriers through problem-solving and coordination with stakeholders.
Requirements
- Preferably, but not required, a Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunication Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Degrees in Business Administration, Marketing, or Law are also welcomed if the candidate has substantial experience with technical products.
Knowledge and Skills
- Ability to communicate clearly with management.
- Ability to focus on the most important matters.
- Strong network of Telefónica stakeholders, mostly with OBs.
- Deep knowledge of the way Telefónica operates at a practical level.
- Empathy to understand other teams' constraints and work around them.
- Creativity to suggest solutions to project roadblocks.
- Manage uncertainty and navigate the unknown.
- Resilient, understanding the challenges of working within and with big organizations.
- Driven, self-motivated, results-oriented.
- Teamwork, enjoy working together and open to share ideas/support.
Professional Experience
- +2 years of experience in managing projects, preferably involving several countries and global units.
Language
- Fluent in Spanish and English.
- Portuguese or German will be a plus.
