Amadeus is seeking a Strategic Legal Director for Payments to lead the legal team supporting the fast-growing Payments Business Unit. As a trusted advisor to the senior management team, you will ensure that products and processes are developed in a compliant manner, working closely with colleagues in the regulatory and compliance teams.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the strategy and planning of the Payments Business Unit, including MA, e-money license or similar strategic initiatives.
  • Attending senior leadership meetings to discuss strategy and risks relating to payments business initiatives.
  • Leading the legal team to deliver a best-in-class legal service to the business.
  • Supervising delivery of advice, support, and business-led negotiation on Payment Business Unit agreements.
  • Managing disputes and external services, and overseeing the choice, quality, and costs of global portfolio of external counsel.

Requirements include:

  • 10-15 years of relevant post-qualification legal experience.
  • Experience managing teams and solid practice in C-level communications.
  • Deep understanding of payments industry required, including familiarity with applicable regulatory frameworks.
