About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Embedded Software Developer to join our team at dormakaba International Holding AG. As a leading global provider of access and security solutions, we enable seamless movement within secure, safe, and sustainable places.

As a Senior Java Embedded Software Developer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and implementing firmware for embedded systems programming in Java. You will work closely with our cross-functional team to deliver high-quality solutions that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and Development: Design, develop, code, test, debug, and customize Access Control solutions for our business and external clients.
  2. Firmware Development: Focus on firmware development in C and embedded Linux OS, with experience in C++ and Java also requested.
Requirements
  1. Education: A degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
  2. Language Skills: Fluency in English (B2 skill minimum).
Technical Skills
  1. Embedded Software Development: At least 5+ years of experience in embedded software development.
  2. Firmware Development: Solid experience in design and implementation of firmware for embedded systems programming in Java.
  3. Linux Systems: Proficiency in Linux systems, with a strong understanding of the Command Line Interface.
  4. Security: Knowledge of security for connected devices.
  5. Measurement Tools: Skills to use measurement tools for analyzing protocols.
  6. Firmware and Hardware: Ability to work with firmware and hardware, and read and understand schematic circuit diagrams of existing and new embedded systems.
  7. Databases: Knowledge of databases optimized for embedded systems (e.g., SQLite).
  8. Coding Practices: Good comprehension of OOP programming paradigm, and adherence to good practices in coding (clean, readable, maintainable code).
  9. Test Automation: Knowledge of test automation.
  10. Communication Skills: Good communication skills and participative attitude.
  11. Teamwork: Ability to work as a team player, with a customer-centric mindset.
Nice to Have
  1. C/C++ Experience: Experience in C/C++.
  2. Python Experience: Experience in Python.
  3. RFID Technologies: Knowledge of RFID technologies (e.g., MIFARE or LEGIC).
  4. Agile Frameworks: Experience working under Scrum or SAFe frameworks, or open to working under such Agile frameworks.
  5. DevOps: Knowledge of DevOps and experience maintaining CI/CD pipelines and workflows.
