Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer II to join our team at Expedia Group. As a key member of our Travel Agent Affiliate Program (TAAP) team, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining our best-in-class tools for travel advisors.

About the Role

As a Software Development Engineer II, you will work in a small, agile team to:

  • Design and develop scalable and efficient software solutions
  • Build automated regression tests and participate in peer code reviews
  • Provide estimates on work and promote good development practices
  • Contribute to a healthy culture and execute superb software design

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Building and owning shopping, booking, and trip management experience, including checkout, post-booking processing, and reporting
  • Participating in the resolution of production issues
  • Working with teams across Expedia Group to incorporate their services into our product
  • Contributing to writing, refactoring, testing, and perfecting code
  • Creating APIs to be consumed across the business unit

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Strong expertise in Kotlin/Java, messaging/queue systems, SQL, and NoSQL technologies
  • Experience with Web UI technologies, including JavaScript, TypeScript, Webpack, HTML5, CSS, and Node.js
  • Experience working in AWS and continuous delivery practices
  • Ability to test, monitor, debug, and fix issues within established SLAs, using testing and monitoring tools
  • Able to design software that is easily testable and observable
