Product Development Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Development Engineer to join our team at MAHLE, specializing in the development of AC compressors. As a key member of our product engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and releasing new compressor products that meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with customers to define technical requirements and develop technical matrices for new compressor applications.
- Lead and organize validation programs for AC compressor components, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Develop and release new standards for compressor applications, working closely with the global team to ensure consistency and quality.
- Author technical validation reports and specifications for internal engineering and external customer documentation.
- Apply DFMEA/PFMEA processes to identify and resolve validation-related issues, improving design and reducing test failures.
- Read and interpret blueprints, and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to ensure accurate compressor design.
- Assist with test unit preparation and execution, analyzing test data and organizing results to meet internal or customer specifications.
- Apply engineering practices to develop design solutions, ensuring high-quality and manufacturability.
- Participate in innovation, product cost, and quality improvement initiatives, driving business growth and excellence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support customer program launch activities.
- Work with suppliers and manufacturing plants to ensure product design meets high value and manufacturability standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or higher.
- 5+ years of experience in developing precision products, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Strong understanding of principles of statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, strengths of materials, thermodynamics, physics (mechanical and electrical), and engineering design.
- Experience with full product cycle life development up to production.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic 3D modeling skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to write effective test reports.
- Ability to manage time and prioritize multiple projects effectively.
