Job Overview:

Specialty Business Solutions, a leader in insurance technology, is seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Tester to ensure the reliability and performance of our software solutions. Our company has a rich history of providing innovative software that empowers clients in the insurance sector.

Role Objective:

The primary responsibility of the QA Tester is to conduct thorough testing of software applications utilized by professionals in the insurance industry. This role operates with a degree of autonomy and may guide junior QA Analysts in their tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute manual testing across various complex modules of the application.
  • Take ownership of small to medium-sized features, from test case design to implementation.
  • Develop moderately complex test cases based on requirements.
  • Perform exploratory testing to identify defects promptly.
  • Provide accurate time estimates for testing tasks.
  • Resolve testing obstacles with minimal assistance.
  • Review test cases executed by junior testers.
  • Analyze User Stories and provide constructive feedback on testable requirements.
  • Log and monitor defects within the assigned areas.
  • Engage proactively with analysts to enhance business understanding.
  • Undertake additional duties appropriate to the role.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in similar QA roles.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities to navigate complex scenarios.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Solid understanding of insurance business processes.
  • Ability to articulate complex bugs and issues clearly.
  • Proficient in SQL scripting and familiar with SQL server and data models.
  • Creative approach to resolving new and challenging situations.
  • Ability to learn from experience and anticipate potential issues.
  • Effective task prioritization skills to focus on critical details.
