Job Description

Job Title: Compliance Officer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Compliance Officer to join our team at Importante Empresa. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our financial institution's compliance frameworks are effective and efficient in identifying, preventing, detecting, and correcting noncompliance.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide reasonable assurance to senior management and regulators that adequate policies, procedures, and internal control measures are in place.
  • Establish standards and implement procedures to ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements, company policies, and procedures.
  • Oversee compliance within the organization and ensure that all employees understand their compliance responsibilities.
  • Manage and review the analysis of suspicious activity alerts and decide on the transmission of suspicious activity reports to competent authorities.
  • Take decisions as per delegation received on the scope of responsibilities and ensure documentation and tracking of decisions.
  • Contribute to Compliance Risk Assessment Process and aggregate and report on Compliance Program risks for the organization.
  • Provide recommendations for remediation of identified deficiencies and collaborate with the business to follow up on timely remediation.

Key Skills:

  • Strong understanding of sector environment and regulatory framework.
  • Extensive knowledge of Compliance issues and challenges specific to the financial industry.
  • Fluent in local language and English.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capacity.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective compliance programs.

Requirements:

  • At least 7 years of experience in a regulated financial institution.
  • Previous position within an internal control function.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
