About the Role

Roche Diagnostics is seeking a highly skilled Principal DevOps Engineer to join our Platform team. As a key member of this team, you will play a crucial role in defining the design principles and practices for implementing complex, enterprise-scale software systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop highly reliable, easy-to-consume, and sustainable platform services.
  • Build and maintain the necessary Infrastructure as Code to support our software development process and the navify Platform end-to-end.
  • Facilitate the software stack integration with our existing CI/CD pipeline and contribute to its continuous improvement.
  • Ensure continuous monitoring solutions cover all operations requirements.
  • Lead the development of a culture that values technical excellence and compassion for individuals.
  • Evaluate and recommend the best technology to create new platform services.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in the software industry.
  • 3+ years of experience in contemporary platforms, including cloud, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm charts, and Kustomize.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with AWS.
  • Experience automating using infrastructure as code (preferably Terraform).
  • Hands-on automation operations using configuration management tools.
  • Hands-on System Administration experience with Unix-based systems, including system configuration and networking.
  • Experience in overall areas of DevOps, including CI/CD, internal tooling, and production operations.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience deploying or managing large-scale distributed environments in Edge environments.
  • Experience in production continuous monitoring environments covering all modules of the platform and infrastructure.
  • Previous SRE experience is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience in other cloud providers (Azure, GCP, AliCloud).
  • Scripting experience highly desired, using shell, Python, Ruby, or similar languages.
