The Role

Roche Diagnostics is seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our Platform team. As a key member of this team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our cloud-based platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement infrastructure as code to support our software development process end to end.
  • Facilitate the software stack integration with our existing CI/CD pipeline and contribute to its continuous improvement.
  • Ensure continuous monitoring solutions cover all operations requirements.
  • Work proactively to establish a continuous improvement fashion for operations.
  • Evangelize healthy DevOps software development and operations practices within the Roche Engineering Community.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in the software industry.
  • 2+ years of experience in contemporary platforms extended from cloud, docker, Kubernetes, helm charts, and Kustomize.
  • Experience in automating using infrastructure as code Terraform, Ansible, Packer, etc.
  • Hands-on automation operations using configuration management tools Ansible, or Saltstack.
  • Experience in CI/CD, Internal tooling, and production operations: CI Tooling Gitlab, Jenkins, SonarQube, Whitesource, Registry/Artifactory, etc.
  • Hands-on System Administration experience with unix-based systems including system configuration and networking.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience deploying or managing large-scale distributed environments in Edge environments.
  • Experience in Production Continuous Monitoring environments covering all modules of the platform and infrastructure (Software, Operating System, Networking, Hardware).
  • Previous SRE experience is a big plus.
  • Hands-on experience in other cloud providers (Azure, GCP, AliCloud).
  • Scripting exp. highly desired, using shell, python, ruby, or similar languages.
