We are seeking exceptional Engineering graduates to participate in our graduate program at DS Smith. This program will focus on the quality assurance of our paper manufacturing operations. As part of the engineering team, you will address challenges related to paper production machinery and identify opportunities for improvement, contributing to a more sustainable future.
About DS Smith
Although you may not be familiar with our name, our products are likely part of your daily life. We are a leading provider of sustainable packaging solutions, paper products, and recycling services, with a presence in over thirty countries. Our innovative packaging solutions are designed to be secure and environmentally friendly, serving a variety of industries.
Program Overview
Your journey will commence at our paper mill, where you will gain insights into the paper-making process, the machinery involved, and our operational methodologies. You will be tasked with evaluating our production processes to ensure the highest quality for our clients, intervening when necessary to maintain efficiency and minimize waste.
You will also have the opportunity to learn from other facilities, adopting best practices to enhance our operations and uphold our commitment to health and safety standards. The development program spans two years, with numerous pathways for future advancement, whether in leadership or specialized roles within the engineering or production teams.
Professional Development
Alongside practical training, you will embark on the DS Smith Graduate Journey, which includes a structured development roadmap. Upon joining, you will receive a comprehensive introduction to our business, including tours of our various facilities.
In your first year, you will focus on self-leadership and personal effectiveness, while your second year will emphasize leadership skills, stakeholder engagement, and influence. At the conclusion of the program, you will present your insights, celebrate your achievements, and collaborate with your Talent Lead to secure a suitable permanent position.
You will not be alone in this journey; you will have access to a network of fellow graduates, a mentor, and support from former graduates throughout your experience.
Candidate Requirements
To qualify for this role, you must possess the following:
- A degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Automation, Robotics) or be on track to complete one.
- Availability to start full-time.
- Proficiency in English and Spanish (minimum B2 level).
- A desire to build a long-term career at our paper mill.
- The legal right to work in the country.
