Program Overview
Your career journey will take place at the Duenas Paper Mill, where you will learn the intricacies of paper production, the machinery involved, and the DS Smith operational standards. You will be tasked with reviewing processes to ensure quality production, intervening when issues arise that disrupt our production flow, and exploring methods to minimize waste.
You will also have the opportunity to visit neighboring mills to learn best practices that can be implemented at the Duenas Mill, ensuring we remain at the forefront of paper production while upholding the highest health and safety standards. The development program spans two years, but the site offers numerous future opportunities, whether in leadership roles or specialized positions within the production or engineering teams, making this an ideal opportunity for those seeking a long-term career at the Duenas Mill.
Development Opportunities
In addition to hands-on training, you will embark on the DS Smith Graduate Journey, which provides a structured development roadmap to support your career progression. Upon joining, you will receive a comprehensive induction, including tours of our paper, packaging, and innovation facilities.
In your first year, you will focus on Self Leadership and Personal Effectiveness, while the second year will emphasize leadership, stakeholder management, and influence. At the conclusion of the program, you will present your learnings, celebrate your achievements with a graduation dinner, and collaborate with your Talent Lead to identify the best permanent role for you.
Rest assured, you will not navigate this journey alone. You will have a network of fellow graduates for idea exchange, a mentor for guidance, and support from a former graduate throughout your experience.
Candidate Requirements
To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Hold a degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Automation, Robotics) or be on track to complete one.
- Be available to start full-time.
- Possess fluent English and Spanish language skills (minimum B2 level).
- Seek to develop a long-term career at the Duenas Paper Mill.
- Have the right to work in Spain.
