Job Title: Global R&D Circularity Program Manager

Hitachi Energy Ltd. is seeking a dedicated and innovative R&D Circularity Program Manager to join our team within the Hitachi Energy Transformers business unit. As part of our commitment to sustainability and the circular economy, this role focuses on optimizing the lifecycle of our transformer products and services to ensure minimal environmental impact.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and contribute to R&D projects aimed at integrating eco-design principles, enhancing product circularity, and developing innovative recycling technologies.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and pilot projects to test new circular solutions and coordinate industrialization in manufacturing.
  • Maintain strong partnerships with external stakeholders, including dismantlers, recyclers, external labs, research centers, and universities, to enhance circularity initiatives and optimize end-of-life processes for our products.
  • Stay up-to-date with evolving regulations relevant to circular economy initiatives and ensure that all R&D circularity initiatives comply with regulations.
  • Provide guidance and knowledge to internal teams on regulatory requirements and best practices for circularity.
Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of circular economy principles and eco-design concepts.
  • Experience in R&D project management and collaboration with external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations, such as ESPR, EPR, REACH, RoHS, DPP, and WEEE.
  • Excellent communication and partnership-building skills.
