SENIOR MANAGER – NETWORK INFRASTRUCTURE, GLOBAL

Location: Flexible across various regions.

The Senior Manager of Network Infrastructure will play a pivotal role within a vibrant global IT organization dedicated to innovation and sustainability, aligned with the core principles of Product, Planet, People, and Performance. This position is responsible for overseeing management and strategic initiatives related to the company's global network infrastructure, ensuring that all regional teams maintain a secure, reliable, and scalable network while adhering to a follow-the-sun service model.

Reporting directly to the Director of Digital Infrastructure & Operations, the Senior Manager will lead a comprehensive global network team, which includes three regional teams of network voice and data engineers, with direct oversight of their respective managers. This role is essential for our ongoing transition and evolution of operational models, processes, systems, and team structures to meet the growing demands of our international business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Collaborating with the Global Digital Design architectural team to establish a cohesive IT Network Infrastructure strategy that aligns with the company's business objectives and strategic roadmap. Transforming technology into value across Avient IT's strategic areas, focusing on investing in personnel, delivering value-added solutions, ensuring secure and cost-effective operations, and developing long-term strategies. Managing and mentoring cross-regional teams of network engineers and specialists, providing technical guidance and career development opportunities. Offering project management support for complex initiatives, ensuring compliance with local regulations and addressing interdependencies with other global projects. Ensuring the security, performance, reliability, and efficiency of Avient's global network infrastructure, while continually seeking improvements. Evolving the Network Infrastructure organization to support effective follow-the-sun service models globally. Implementing harmonized processes and effective training to guarantee seamless global support across all technical areas. Enhancing team efforts in configuring, deploying, and supporting Avient's global networking infrastructure in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Working with Digital Service Delivery to establish and measure meaningful KPIs to support SLA commitments. Engaging with the Digital Service Delivery team to ensure all regional teams have appropriate ITSM platform structures for effective incident management. Researching and advocating for improvements in IT processes and efficiency within the global Digital I&O team. Ensuring high-quality documentation exists for all relevant projects and systems. Acting as a liaison between end users and IT teams, triaging incidents for escalation. Maintaining relationships with relevant IT vendors. Participating in IT strategic processes and service needs. Demonstrating the ability to work effectively across global virtual teams with minimal supervision. Flexibility to work across various global time zones. Potential for limited global travel. Other responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience. 8 – 16 years of senior professional technical experience in a related IT field, or 10 years in network engineering and architecture. 5 – 10 years of leadership experience managing significant cross-regional teams. Proven experience in engaging and motivating remote team members. Demonstrated knowledge in designing and optimizing complex network infrastructure. Strong experience in network security and relevant technologies. Proficiency in network management tools and automation technologies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences. Experience in collaborating within a global enterprise environment. Strong focus on infrastructure security and best practices.
