Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Manager – Network Infrastructure, Global to join our dynamic IT organization. This role is pivotal in supporting our mission of innovation and sustainability, guided by our core principles: Product, Planet, People, and Performance. The Senior Manager will oversee strategic initiatives related to our global network infrastructure, ensuring its security, reliability, and scalability while adhering to our follow-the-sun service model.

Reporting to the Director of Digital Infrastructure & Operations, the Senior Manager will lead a global network team comprising regional voice and data engineers, directly managing their respective leaders. This position is crucial as we evolve our operational frameworks and processes to meet the demands of our expanding business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Global Digital Design architectural team to develop a comprehensive IT Network Infrastructure strategy that aligns with our business objectives and adheres to industry best practices.
  • Drive the transformation of technology into value across Avient IT's strategic areas, focusing on investing in our workforce, delivering secure and cost-effective solutions, and developing long-term strategies.
  • Mentor and manage cross-regional teams of network professionals, providing technical guidance and fostering career development.
  • Offer project management expertise for complex initiatives, ensuring compliance with local regulations and interdependencies with global projects.
  • Guarantee the security, performance, and efficiency of Avient's global network infrastructure, ensuring services are available and continuously improved.
  • Adapt the Network Infrastructure organization to support a seamless follow-the-sun service model globally.
  • Ensure standardized processes and effective training are in place for consistent global support across technical areas.
  • Enhance team efforts in configuring, deploying, and maintaining Avient's global networking infrastructure in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Work with Digital Service Delivery to implement and measure meaningful KPIs supporting SLA commitments.
  • Research and advocate for improvements in IT processes and service delivery efficiency.
  • Maintain high-quality documentation for all relevant projects and systems.
  • Act as a liaison between end users and IT teams, ensuring effective incident management and escalation.
  • Foster relationships with IT vendors and participate in strategic IT processes.
  • Exhibit flexibility to work across global time zones and participate in off-hours activities as needed.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 8-16 years of senior technical experience in IT or network engineering.
  • 5-10 years of leadership experience managing cross-regional teams.
  • Proven experience in designing and optimizing complex network infrastructures.
  • Strong skills in network security and management tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of conveying complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Experience in a global enterprise environment with a focus on collaboration.
