Overview
Central Operations represents an innovative strategy within Amazon Logistics aimed at establishing a scalable solution to manage the increasingly intricate and expanding last mile delivery network.

We are seeking a Senior Analyst to enhance processes and technologies utilized by the operational team. The ideal candidate will thrive in dynamic environments with a significant level of uncertainty.

This position offers a unique opportunity to think creatively, develop original concepts, and collaborate with AMZL Planning, Transportation, Last Mile Technology, Operations, and business expansion teams to devise a strategic framework for scaling Central Operations.

As AMZL aspires to become Europe's leading parcel carrier, the right candidate will play a vital role in balancing our external customers' needs with the key performance indicators of various departments.

You will occupy a central position within the AMZL business, presenting a unique chance to influence performance and scalability not only within Central Operations but across the broader organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate effective decision-making by gathering and synthesizing data from diverse sources, presenting it in a clear and actionable format.
  • Collaborate with fellow analysts and BI engineers in planning and analytics to develop analytical solutions that align with business objectives.
  • Recommend and implement business metrics for senior management assessments, working alongside business intelligence and data engineers to create data infrastructure that supports growth.
  • Contribute to defining and advancing the technology roadmap.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses to identify root causes of variations in key parameters over specified timeframes.
  • Utilize data to formulate business requirements documents and guide actionable technology initiatives.

A Day in the Life
As an Analyst within Central Operations, you will oversee a broad scope that includes driving continuous improvement in established key performance indicators while also spearheading strategic initiatives across the organization.

The ideal candidate will possess the ability to visualize the implications of challenges and initiatives, considering both short-term and long-term impacts across the Amazon organization.


Questions You May Help to Answer:
  • How can we collaborate with multiple functions to enhance on-road efficiency while ensuring engagement with Delivery Service Partners (DSP)?
  • What does the technology roadmap entail for the upcoming 18-24 months? It is essential to plan for the future, not just the present.
  • How can we assist our external stakeholders in improving their data points, KPIs, and processes to enhance performance?
  • Considering AMZL's anticipated growth, how can Central Operations collaborate to improve initiative management and implementation?

About the Team
Amazon Logistics, or AMZL, is responsible for 'last mile' delivery operations in collaboration with third-party distribution partners. We leverage innovative thinking and continuous improvement initiatives to deliver millions of physical products to our customers.

Our mission is to ensure a seamless delivery experience for our customers while rolling out global delivery solutions.


Basic Qualifications
  • A degree in Business Administration, Finance, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, Operations Research, Mathematics, or other relevant analytical disciplines.
  • Experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or in a related field.
  • Proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL), Microsoft Excel, and statistical analysis tools.
  • Experience in communicating effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including peers and leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree.
  • Experience with business intelligence reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Quicksight, Looker, MicroStrategy, SSAS Cubes).
  • Familiarity with Redshift.
  • Previous experience in creating comprehensive Business Requirement Documentation.
  • Knowledge of Java, REACT, or Python.
