As a Global Colleague Privacy Analyst at Amex, you will play a critical role in ensuring the company's compliance with global privacy regulations and data protection principles. This position is part of the Colleague Experience Group (CEG) and reports to the Sr. Manager - Global Colleague Privacy.
Key Responsibilities- Drive and perform analysis, monitoring, and reporting of key CEG Privacy risk indicators and other data.
- Support the development, coordination, and implementation of CEG's global privacy program.
- Lead first-line privacy advice to all global CEG and company-wide teams using colleague or candidate data.
- Perform thorough reviews and provide privacy guidance for CEG data access and/or report requests.
- Support, perform, and manage risk reviews within enterprise processes, such as Privacy Risk Assessments, Regulatory Change Management, Process Risk Self-Assessment testing, etc.
- Support a global remit with particular focus on emerging legislative or regulatory privacy/data protection requirements.
- Ensure adherence to the CEG enterprise privacy risk appetite, and Amex Data Protection and Privacy Principles globally through effective privacy oversight and first-line defense credible challenge, while ensuring compliance with regulatory and legal requirements, CEG and Company policies.
- Partner with compliance, General Counsel's Organization (GCO) and other key stakeholders in overseeing CEG-related privacy legal & regulatory change management.
- Partner with the enterprise privacy oversight function in the Global Privacy Oversight to ensure alignment on required reporting, monitoring, and escalation activities.
- Foster a culture of privacy and risk awareness within CEG by advocating for early collaboration with CEG teams, accountability, and sharing of best practices.
- Ensure that CEG remains a trusted partner to the organization by providing Colleague Privacy support across the Amex enterprise.
- Previous experience in privacy, compliance, and/or risk management and oversight function, including identifying and remediating risks and determining adequacy of operational risk controls.
- Understanding of how legal and regulatory requirements are interpreted and can be implemented across various processes, strong awareness of current and upcoming regulatory change.
- Understanding of how colleague privacy and processes involving candidate or colleague data are managed in alignment with Global Privacy requirements and in consideration of other risk functions (e.g., Compliance, Third Party, Enterprise Resiliency).
- Strong decision-making skills and the ability to resolve complex problems independently.
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills and proficiency in managing multiple or shifting priorities simultaneously.
- Highly organized, excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to quality and detail.
- Comfortable working with multiple stakeholders in a matrixed organization.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships to foster a culture of awareness and engagement and mobilize change.
- Process enhancement mind-set-ability to identify areas for improvement in existing processes and shape recommendations for change.
- Demonstrate business acumen, credibility, and judgment, both independently and in collaboration with compliance, business partners, General Counsel's Organization (GCO) and other colleagues.
- Understanding of CEG systems, processes, and experience with Archer Applications (e.g., Process Risk Self-Assessment, Regulatory Change Management, Privacy Risk Assessment) a plus.
- Expertise in using Microsoft Office Programs (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
