About the Role

Welcome to Welocalize, a global leader in translation and localization services. We are seeking a highly skilled French Canadian Linguist to join our team as a Quality Control and Translation Specialist.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform quality control tasks on assigned projects or accounts, ensuring that all translations meet the highest standards of quality and accuracy.
  • Perform on-demand translation tasks, leveraging your expertise in French Canadian language and culture to deliver high-quality translations.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their linguistic needs and preferences, and work closely with our team to ensure that all translations meet their requirements.
  • Develop and train new and existing freelancers, providing guidance and support to help them improve their skills and knowledge.
  • Participate in the development of new and improved working processes, contributing to the continuous improvement of our services and processes.
Requirements
  • University degree in Translation/Applied Languages or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience in the translation and localization industry.
  • Fluent in French Canadian (native level), both written and spoken, and fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Excellent feel for language (source/target) and knowledge of terminology in the following subject matters: IT consumer products, social media, and entertainment.
  • Thorough understanding of the localization process and excellent user experience of standard software, such as Windows and Office applications and standard CAT tools.
  • Ability to learn new localization tools and applications quickly and effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and translators.
