About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Search Relevance Engineer to join our team at Media Markt Saturn Th Services Barcelona, S.A. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for enhancing our search functionality to deliver an exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee search relevance configurations and parameter settings within our Apache Solr-based E-commerce Search Engine.
  • Collaborate with POs, Data Analysts, and Search Managers to ensure seamless communication and effective implementation of business requirements.
  • Work closely with data scientists, backend engineers, and product managers to improve relevance models, filters, mappings, and products.
  • Develop and maintain technical and feature-related documentation, ensuring knowledge transfer to operational units across different countries.
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of Solr and its functionality.
  • Experience with search algorithms and processes related to data ETL (structured collections/indexes, field types for searching/filtering/bucketing, etc.) and search relevance optimization (precision, recall, nDCG, etc.).
  • Excellent technical skills, with the ability to quickly grasp new tasks and complex subjects.
  • Strong communication skills, with a focus on teamwork, innovation, and customer-centricity.
