Position Overview

This position works closely with the Industrial Liaison Office of ALBA, which promotes innovation and competitiveness through the specialized application of advanced synchrotron techniques in a collaborative, multicultural, and dynamic work environment.
We are looking for a highly driven individual to engage with an intensive industrial and innovation program aimed at strengthening ALBA's collaboration in the realm of X-ray optics and metrology. This includes supporting and advancing industrial research in this domain and leveraging technology transfer opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide assistance to users of the MINERVA instrument, particularly industry clients.
- Ensure the MINERVA instrument is maintained in optimal condition and ready for use.
- Conduct necessary upgrades and commissioning activities to maintain the MINERVA instrument at peak performance.
- Support data analysis, interpretation, and the generation of insightful reports for industry clients.
- Organize and participate in national and international outreach initiatives to promote the utilization of synchrotron techniques by industry.
- Contribute to ongoing research and development activities within the Optics and Metrology Group.
- Execute tasks required to keep the MINERVA instrument operational following the ALBA II upgrade.
- Assist with technology transfer initiatives.
The selected candidate will work on the MINERVA beamline, co-funded by the European Space Agency (ESA), as part of the NewATHENA mission, an innovative X-ray space observatory expected to be launched in the coming decade. The candidate will collaborate with the private company cosine to produce and characterize the optics (mirror modules) for the space telescope, as well as with other companies interested in utilizing ALBA Synchrotron's industry services.
Qualifications
The candidate should possess a University degree in a scientific discipline relevant to the project, including an Engineering degree.
This position is specifically reserved for candidates with a legal status of disability, with a degree of disability equal to or greater than 33%.
