We are seeking a highly skilled Commissioning Engineer to join our team at Amazon. As a Commissioning Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our data centers and cloud infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Support vendors, contractors, and other teams involved in the construction and commissioning of various systems, including medium and low voltage power systems, generators, UPS, HVAC, chilled water systems, building management systems, electrical power monitoring systems, testing and balancing, pumps, and hydronic systems.
- Provide multi-discipline input into the scheduling, test script development, designing, and planning of projects.
- Review component submittal packages, lead factory witness testing, perform system level and integrated system testing.
- Continuously audit activities to ensure compliance with environmental, quality, and safety requirements.
- Prepare comprehensive weekly reports on the status of all ongoing projects and lessons learned to continually improve the quality of our program.
- 7+ years of experience directly related to mission critical facilities or data center infrastructure.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline.
- 5+ years of commissioning experience.
- Certification or training specific to NETA, ASHRAE, or commissioning specific education courses.
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally for up to 30% of the time.
- Competent in both spoken and written Spanish and English.
- Physical requirements include walking job sites in uneven terrain, working at heights, and carrying objects weighing up to 49 pounds.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Effective communication skills, detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to work in high-stress environments.
- Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems for critical infrastructures.
- Ability to read and edit construction documents, including design drawings, control diagrams, specifications, and equipment submittals.
