Job Summary:
Nordex Group is seeking a highly skilled Control Systems Software Engineer to join our team. As a Control Systems Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of control technology functions for wind turbines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop software functions for wind turbine control systems using Model-Based-Design and code generation approach.
- Implement software functions on programmable logic controllers (PLC) according to requirements.
- Define test and acceptance criteria for closed loop control of wind turbines.
- Conduct quality assurance through software tests on HiL setup in the software laboratory and on site at the wind turbine.
- Develop related software documentation.
- Collaborate with various departments in an international environment to investigate and analyze complex control issues in the fleet and develop corrective actions.
Requirements:
- Master's or Ph.D. degree in Mechanical, Control, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering field.
- Good experience in PLC software development using Matlab/Simulink is mandatory, and IEC61131 is desirable.
- Good knowledge of industrial communications protocols (Profinet, ModBus TCP, CAN) is required.
- Good knowledge of Control Design Techniques (Robust Control, Kalman Filters) is required.
- Desirable experience in Predictive Control, Fault Tolerant Control, System Identification, and Machine Learning Algorithms.
- Desirable experience with Embedded Coding Generation and RT systems for Control Applications.
- Excellent English language skills (written and spoken) are required. German or Spanish language skills are also desirable.
- Independent, reliable, and systematic/structured way of working. Strong communication and team skills paired with intercultural competence.
- Minimum 2-3 years of work experience.
- Availability to travel.
