We are seeking a highly skilled High-Performance Computing Support Specialist to join our team at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center. As a key member of our Operations Department, you will play a crucial role in supporting our users and ensuring the optimal performance of our high-performance computing systems.
Key Responsibilities- Optimize and Adapt Scientific Applications: Collaborate with researchers and developers to optimize and adapt scientific applications to new pre-exascale architectures, improving their performance and scalability.
- Performance Analysis and Benchmarking: Conduct performance analysis and benchmarking of selected applications, generating reports and recommendations for improvement.
- Collaboration and Support: Provide technical support and collaboration to researchers, developers, and other stakeholders, ensuring seamless integration with our high-performance computing systems.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Essential Knowledge and Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a similar position, working with HPC codes, performance analysis tools, and parallel debuggers.
- Additional Knowledge and Experience: Experience with managing big projects, using performance tools, and analyzing high-performance computing architectures.
- Competences: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, analytical problem-solving ability, and a good understanding of Linux environment and Shell scripting.
- Location: The position will be located at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center within the Operations Department.
- Contract: We offer a full-time contract with a competitive salary, flexible working hours, extensive training plan, and a good working environment.
- Benefits: Private health insurance, support to relocation procedures, and 23 paid vacation days plus 24th and 31st of December per our collective agreement.
