Position Overview

The Customs Agent plays a vital role in facilitating efficient customs operations. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with customs regulations and managing the customs clearance process effectively.


Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the customs process to ensure it flows smoothly and is completed in a timely manner.
  • Accurately input data into the operational system to maintain precise records.
  • Monitor and report on customs files through tracking and tracing methods.
  • Ensure timely and accurate billing for clients.
  • Comprehend and apply the import and export customs Desk Level Operating Procedures to meet customer requirements.
  • Transfer customs declaration data from various documents into the customs entry system to create valid declarations.
  • Assist in verifying customs declaration details and submitting them to the relevant customs authorities.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations at all times.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience or training, or a combination of education and experience in customs operations.
  • Strong understanding of the customs brokerage process and systems.
  • Knowledge of customs legislation, particularly regarding classification, valuation, and origin.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and achieve positive outcomes.
  • Proactive with strong organizational capabilities.
  • Proficient in computer applications such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Fluency in English is required.
