**Job Summary**

We are currently recruiting an experienced Project Engineer based in Madrid, Spain to support our expanding Iberia business.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Support technical energy audits, surveys, and lead project implementation across industrial manufacturing sites in Ireland and globally.
  • Work with energy management partners to deliver projects providing direct energy benefits and innovative funding options (grants/credit schemes).

**Primary Tasks and Responsibilities**

  • Mechanical/electrical design of energy efficiency solutions for large-scale manufacturing facilities, including systems such as Chillers, Refrigeration, Heat Pumps, Combined Heat & Power, Heat Recovery, HVAC, Steam, and Hot Water Systems.
  • Work with client sites and existing design teams to ensure Em3 continues to bring innovative design solutions to address climate action challenges.
  • Ensure quality design deliverables are produced to allow climate action solutions to be successfully implemented in client sites.
  • Support relationships with clients in the Food, Dairy, Pharmaceutical, Bio-pharmaceutical, and healthcare space both in Ireland and internationally.
  • Manage the performance of the design team on the project to ensure the client metrics for budget, schedule, and energy performance are achieved.
  • Liaise with contractors and technology supply partners integral to large-scale industrial energy efficiency projects.
  • Prepare and communicate progress reports on the design process.
  • Resolve technical challenges as they arise during the design and construction phase of projects.

**Interactions**

  • Participate fully in all necessary interactions to fulfill and develop your function within the business, including information exchange with the Em3 management team and close coordination with the client facilities organization.
  • Communicate with the energy analytical team.

**Administration**

  • Prepare clear, neat, concise, timely, and accurate documentation for review.
  • Make regular accounts and activity reports.
  • Prepare daily timesheets recording time spent and activity.

**Requirements**

The ideal candidate will have experience in the design and project implementation of Utilities systems including HVAC, cooling process, and refrigeration, steam/hot water, heat pumps, heat recovery, and CHP renewables.

Other requirements include:

  • University Honours Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Min 5+ years relevant Utilities & Process Technologies experience.
  • Experience with industrial facilities such as Dairy, Nutrition, Pharma, Biopharma, and Medical Device manufacturing facilities.
  • Ability to identify and quantify energy-saving opportunities in the industrial sector.
  • Good working knowledge of building regulations and CIBSE/ASHRAE design codes.
  • Strong supervisory and/or management experience is required.
  • Knowledge and experience in energy auditing, energy consumption forecasting, and energy modeling.
  • CEA/CEM or equivalent an advantage.
  • A strong sense of ownership and responsibility for tasks/projects.
  • The ability to lead, use initiative, and be self-motivated.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Full Driving Licence required.
  • Good knowledge of IPMVP.
  • Good working knowledge of environment, health, and safety legislation requirements.
