Skydance Animation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environment Modeling Lead Artist to join our team. As a key member of our animation studio, you will be responsible for managing a team of modeling artists to create the visual look of our movies within assigned deadlines.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a team of modeling artists to achieve high-quality results within deadlines
- Collaborate with the Director, Production Designer, and Supervisor to elevate the quality of work
- Model trees, bushes, and other vegetation to match the movie's visual style
- Iterate with the production designer to find the best location design
- Lead the team, providing support, guidance, and instruction to ensure artistic and professional growth
- Follow the Supervisor's guidance and keep up-to-date with current technology trends and tools
- Solve technical problems with the TD Supervisor and provide modeling support to other teams
- 6+ years of professional experience in VFX or animation industries
- At least 1 year of experience as Lead in the animation industry
- Ability to work alone and collaboratively, often with multiple tasks and under deadline pressure
- Good eye for proportions, color, composition, and detail
- Strong modeling knowledge, including organic modeling and USD workflow
- Knowledge of Houdini is desirable
- High English level, with Spanish oral and written skills desirable
