Job Summary:
CBRE is seeking a highly skilled Senior Operations Manager to lead our Engineering and Technical Services team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for managing a team of engineers and technicians responsible for implementing, coordinating, and managing complex mechanical operations for multiple facilities, campuses, or a portfolio of buildings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide formal supervision to employees, including training and development, performance evaluations, and coaching.
- Oversee the recruiting and hiring of new employees, ensuring a skilled and diverse team.
- Coordinate and manage the team's daily activities, including establishing work schedules, assigning tasks, and cross-training staff.
- Assist team members with difficult operations and maintenance issues, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Manage contractors, subcontractors, and engineers on the entire maintenance aspect, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Supervise and oversee the daily operation of facility controls and asset management systems, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
- Develop and manage annual operating budgets, evaluating and forecasting operations and maintenance costs for multiple locations.
- Schedule maintenance activities in accordance with customer operational requirements, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Integrate with clients to understand their operational needs and requirements, providing tailored solutions to meet their needs.
- Apply a broad knowledge of the business, own discipline, and how own discipline integrates with others to achieve team and departmental objectives.
- Lead by example, modeling behaviors that are consistent with CBRE's values and principles.
- Influence others to adopt a different point of view, while being guided by policies and departmental plans.
- Identify and solve technical and operational problems of complexity, recognizing the broader impact across the department.
- Improve and change existing methods, processes, and standards within job discipline, driving continuous improvement and excellence.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline, or equivalent experience and education.
- 5-8 years of relevant experience in facilities management, engineering, or a related field.
- Proven leadership skills, with experience in staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention.
- Ability to lead the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations, and handle problems.
- Leadership skills to motivate the team to achieve broad operational targets, with impacts on own job discipline, multiple job disciplines, and department.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Extensive organizational skills and an advanced inquisitive mindset.
