Job Summary
RINA is seeking a highly skilled Marine Surveyor to join its team in Asturias, Spain. As a Marine Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, compliance, and quality of ships and marine assets.
Main Responsibilities
- Verify that vessels meet international and classification society standards.
- Prepare technically accurate and timely reports of inspections and surveys performed.
- Maintain survey files in an orderly and up-to-date manner.
- Stay up-to-date with new working methods and developments affecting the technical scope of assigned responsibilities.
- Recommend new approaches to problems encountered.
- Perform routine surveys on classed ships, platforms, or other marine structures.
- Engage with clients to solve problems within area of expertise.
Requirements
- Formal qualification in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or Nautical School.
- 2 years of professional experience, either as a surveyor or as an owner superintendent, shipyard quality control inspector, or as a STCW Officer.
- Previous experience as a surveyor of IACS Classification Societies is a significant advantage.
- Ability to work in confined spaces, hazardous atmospheres, extreme temperatures, and weather conditions.
- Fluent English language, both spoken and written.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work alone, in a team, and on tight schedules.
- Ability to manage conflicts and negotiate.
