Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated R&D Scientist in Molecular Biology and Genomics to join our multidisciplinary team. As a key member of our research department, you will be responsible for leading a molecular biology unit and managing a pipeline of multiple workflows to develop innovative vaccines and diagnostic tools.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a Nucleic Acid Synthesis and Cloning Unit: Supervise and manage a team of scientists to perform hands-on gene synthesis, cloning, plasmid generation, and sequencing activities for biopharmaceutical applications.
- Ensure Quality Control: Oversee quality control processes to ensure that generated constructs meet the highest quality standards.
- Author and Review Technical Reports: Write and review technical reports that meet regulatory requirements and expectations of regulatory agencies.
- Collaborate with Development Teams: Work closely with other development teams within the company and external partners, including CROs, to advance vaccine development and diagnostic services.
- Manage Multiple Workflows: Effectively manage a pipeline of multiple workflows in parallel, ensuring timely completion of tasks and responsibilities.
- Display Excellent Communication Skills: Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as adherence to good documentation practices.
- Participate in Laboratory Setup and Technology Implementation: Contribute to the setup of new laboratory facilities, explore and recommend new technologies, manage the incorporation of dedicated equipment, and develop and write SOPs for routine use and maintenance.
- Ph.D. in Life Sciences: Hold a Ph.D. in life sciences with a minimum of 2 years of experience in industry. Industry experience will be highly valued.
- Recombinant DNA Technologies: Be proficient in recombinant DNA technologies, including plasmid generation, cloning, and sequencing technologies (Sanger, NGS).
- Nucleic Acid Extractions and Genome Sequencing: Have hands-on experience with nucleic acid extractions, library preparation, and genome sequencing.
- Sequencing/NGS Data Interpretation: Be an expert in sequencing/NGS data interpretation with bioinformatic tools.
- Experimental Protocol Design and Execution: Be able to independently design and execute complex experimental protocols and interpret data to solve scientific questions and improve procedures.
- Lab Automation and GLP Environments: Have experience in lab automation setups and GLP environments, with a strong ability to keep detailed and traceable records.
- Collaboration and Communication: Demonstrate strong ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary group and with external partners, with good communication skills and the ability to perform verbal and written scientific data presentation.
