Software Sales Engineer

Job Summary
The Software Sales Engineer at AVL plays a vital role in driving business growth by identifying customer needs and translating them into cost-effective technical solutions. This position involves coordinating technical proposals and quotations, as well as building relationships with existing and new customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and coordinate technical solutions and quotations in response to customer requirements for AVL Simulation & Testing Software.
- Identify new business opportunities for AVL Software Business Unit.
- Develop relationships within the existing customer base and acquire new customers, driving sales and achieving business targets.
- Make presentations and conduct software demonstrations at customer locations or via online meetings.
- Establish and maintain effective customer relationships to understand customer needs and promote understanding of the AVL portfolio.
- Ensure a positive customer experience throughout the sales process.
- Prepare sales plans using company tools and support forecasting planning tasks.
- Perform regular status reviews throughout the AVL worldwide organization.
- Develop and maintain a high level of technical expertise in AVL SW solutions.
- Provide market feedback for future software development and improvement.
- Ensure local execution of go-to-market strategies and product launches.
- Support customers during the onboarding phase and collect customer satisfaction information.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or other related Software Engineering fields.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish; German is desirable.
- Candidates should be self-motivated and capable of setting and executing strategies to accomplish goals, with excellent relationship management, communication, and negotiation skills.
- A self-confident personality with communication and intercultural skills and a high technical understanding is essential.
- Sales or sales support experience is preferred, along with a highly customer-focused attitude and the ability to solve customer-related issues to mutual satisfaction.
- Candidates should be capable of planning, prioritizing, and coordinating workloads with minimal guidance and have a willingness to travel (10%).
- Knowledge of the automotive industry and its current challenges is also required.
