About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Operations Specialist to join our Global Procurement Shared Services team at Amazon. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting the EU procurement and business teams by delivering operational purchasing tasks and assignments.

Main Scope

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing functional support to the EU Procurement Operations network for operational and administrative tasks, including:

  • Supplier master data management
  • Supplier compliance review
  • Communication with internal and external stakeholders

Key Responsibilities

The Procurement Operations Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Processing daily remedy tickets and web requisitions
  • Serving as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders (vendors/manufacturers)
  • Setting up and maintaining supplier master data for the procurement network
  • Working in full compliance with Amazon's Spending and Transaction policy
  • Supporting continuous improvement projects
  • Conducting and verifying Sustainability, Safety, and Corporate Social Responsibility compliance for suppliers
  • Managing escalations related to supplier compliance issues
  • Creating and analyzing regular supplier compliance reports to identify improvement areas

A Day in the Life

The Procurement Operations Specialist will review incoming Vendor Onboarding requests to ensure suppliers are compliant with Amazon's Sustainability and Safety policies. They will engage with internal stakeholders for support and follow up with suppliers on critical tasks to finalize onboardings successfully. They will partner with other team members across the organization to work on projects aimed at improving processes. They will perform analysis on a set of suppliers to validate their compliance and look for remediation, and they will engage in support of broad initiatives, aiming to improve the supplier base.

Our Global Procurement Shared Services team is a big, diverse, multicultural team. Each team member has an interesting, valued background that enriches the organization. Our purpose is to provide efficiencies to other teams under the Global Procurement Organization (GPO), by driving the execution of the process we host and raising the bar on service level.

Requirements

  • B2/C1 English level
  • Knowledge in using ERP systems (e.g. SAP, ORACLE, Coupa) in large organizations
  • Knowledge in MS Office – in particular MS Excel

Preferred Qualifications

  • High precision in verbal and written communication
  • Previous experience in shared service centers or in supplier management is advantageous
  • Data analysis experience will be valued
  • Self-motivated person
  • Ability to resolve day-to-day problems and focus on delivering results
  • Ability to make effective escalation decisions
  • Good attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Good judgment and instincts
  • Able to prioritize in a complex, fast-paced environment, good time management
  • Formal business administration or procurement qualification required; Bachelor degree preferred
