About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Aluminium Buyer to join our Corporate Metal Group at Norsk Hydro. The successful candidate will be responsible for acquiring raw materials, specifically aluminium scrap, from suppliers in Spain and Portugal.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts and ensuring timely delivery of products and solutions.
- Analyse spending categories to identify cost-saving opportunities, such as economies of scale.
- Manage existing supplier relationships and contracts, and develop new supplier base in line with global procurement policy.
- Renegotiate supplier contracts as required and stay up-to-date with market trends and techniques.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments, including Technical, Sales, and Quality.
- Support commercial bidding processes and review orders for completeness and accuracy.
- Provide support to factories as needed.
