About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior SIM Engineer to join our SIM Engineering team at Cubic Telecom. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and documenting new features and products for our M2M and IoT customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop new features and products for our SIM/eSIM solutions
  • Research and showcase new technologies to improve our existing connectivity product offering
  • Develop new concepts and share knowledge across teams on new technologies and updates in the market
  • Participate in RFx processes for the selection and onboarding of new suppliers
  • Design, develop, test SIM-based applications and tools supporting SIM applications and their integration within the ecosystem
  • Learn and solve customer pain-points for improved end-user experience and customer satisfaction
Requirements
  • Third-level qualification in a technology discipline such as engineering, computer science, or a similar discipline
  • 6-9 years of experience working in a technology organization, preferably in telecoms technology, with up to 5 years' experience in SIM/eSIM/OTA engineering R&D
  • Strong working experience and deep understanding of:
    • Javacard development and testing
    • Remote SIM Provisioning technologies GSMA SGP.02, GSMA SGP.22/SGP.32 and beyond
    • ETSI/3GPP smart card/(U)SIM specifications, ISO 7816, Global Platform 2.2+ specifications
    • On-hands modem/TCU testing
    • SIM OTA development and testing
    • SIM Security knowledge
  • Monitoring and alerting tools, e.g., DataDog, Zabbix
  • Java, C#, SQL, scripting knowledge
  • Proactive and open-minded person with analytical & problem-solving thinking
  • Fast learner who likes to deep-dive within multiple technologies
  • Quality-focused individual with curiosity for technology
  • Ability to work unsupervised and take responsibility for the completion of tasks
  • Effective communication skills
Desirable Skills
  • Proven track record in working with operations/support teams
  • Experience using Atlassian tools, e.g., Confluence, Jira
  • Experience working on Kanban model to deliver results
  • Experience/knowledge of Postman API
  • Demonstratable ability to solve complex problems and propose new perspectives on existing solutions
  • Works independently; receives minimal guidance
  • Ability to act as a mentoring resource for colleagues with less experience
  • Willingness to contribute to process improvements
  • Ability to lead the work of small project teams
  • Works with minimal guidance
  • Professional Certifications in specialized discipline
  • Strong industry experience with leading companies
