Senior Exchange and M365 Engineer

Overview

As a Senior Exchange and M365 Engineer, you will oversee all facets of online operations and functional requirements from Amadeus Business Units. This role demands in-depth knowledge and implementation of technologies centered around cloud-based solutions utilizing M365 and Azure infrastructure architecture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead technical projects, developing architectural designs, and facilitating the build, implementation, and deployment phases in critical messaging initiatives, including site integrations and management of SMTP traffic flow alterations.
  • Design and construct infrastructure for data migration within messaging or collaboration systems.
  • Automate processes through scripting using PowerShell. Provide Level 3 Systems Administration for the Amadeus Messaging and Collaboration framework, acting as the primary contact for major incident escalations.
  • Configure and manage mail routing, messaging hygiene, and security settings.
  • Oversee urgent security tasks such as audits, litigation holds, e-discovery, and access revocation.
  • Organize and govern GAD integration protocols.
  • Produce comprehensive technical documentation.
  • Actively engage in the Amadeus Change Management processes.
  • Contribute and propose innovative solutions based on cloud technology.

Expertise and practical experience in the aforementioned areas are essential. The ideal candidate should possess a willingness to learn and a genuine interest in collaboration.

You will adhere to the SDLC Process, ensuring Change Management protocols are followed for Production Environments. Responsibilities will include maintaining processes and producing operational and technical documentation, including designs, deployment guides, operational guides, and training materials.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • A degree in computer science or a related field.
  • Over 5 years of experience managing Exchange, SharePoint, and hands-on experience with M365 corporate collaboration environments.

Core Competencies

  • Experience with M365 Application Stack, including Exchange Online, hybrid designs, messaging hygiene, and security configurations.
  • Proficient in scripting with PowerShell (mandatory).
  • Hands-on experience with migration tools (e.g., ShareGate, Avepoint, Metalogix) and tenant-to-tenant migration concepts.

Additional Skills

  • Familiarity with Azure stack, including tenant setup, subscription creation, and resource management.
  • Ability to proactively set up and utilize monitoring tools for site and application performance.
  • Basic SQL administration skills and understanding of load balancing and clustering concepts.

Business Acumen

  • Fluent in business English with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good grasp of Agile methodologies, quality processes, and best practices for maintaining information security.
  • Capable of handling confidential and sensitive company information responsibly.
  • Proficient in technical writing and documentation, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for broader understanding.
  • Demonstrates independence in research and effective time management skills.
  • Quick learner with the ability to adapt to resolve system issues or significant software challenges.

Strong communication skills and effective collaboration with a global team across various time zones are essential.
