Job Summary
The Project Engineer will play a pivotal role in the design, engineering, development, and execution of large-scale solar energy projects, including thermal storage capabilities and combined with nuclear power plants. This position requires a strong understanding of CSP technologies, including solar thermal collectors, thermal energy storage, power cycles, and excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Requirements and Specifications
Develop and maintain technical requirements and specifications documents for CSP projects, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations.
Design and OptimizationCoordinate the design and optimization of CSP systems, including solar collectors, heat exchangers, thermal energy storage, and other components, within the company.
Vendor ManagementIdentify and manage suitable vendors for CSP projects, coordinating and communicating with them to ensure successful project execution.
Feasibility Studies and Site AssessmentsConduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and technical evaluations to determine project viability and optimal design solutions.
Project Planning and BudgetingDevelop project plans, schedules, and budgets in coordination with project managers and stakeholders.
Technical Reporting and CommunicationPrepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation to communicate project status, key milestones, and performance metrics to Holtec's management effectively.
Support to US-Based Project TeamProvide support to Holtec's US-based project team during execution of projects, supporting the resolution of any technical issues with the client and interfacing with local subcontractors.
Business Development SupportSupport the business development team in the technical aspects of CSP for proposal preparation and attend conferences and marketing events that result in new business.
Additional Responsibilities

Manage and coordinate quality oversight of local subcontractors.
Contract Review and Risk ManagementSupport the review of contracts with Holtec's legal team and add value with regards to risk identification and mitigation strategies.
Requirements
- Education
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or related Engineering or Scientific discipline.
ExperienceMinimum of 5 years' experience in the energy industry, preferably in CSP plants.
Project Engineering ExperienceMinimum of 5 years' experience as a Project Engineer.
Technical KnowledgeStrong understanding of CSP technologies, including solar thermal collectors, thermal energy storage, power cycles, etc.
Language SkillsFluent in English language.
Soft SkillsExcellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Professional CertificationsPrefer Chartered Engineer status, but not required.
