Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Lead Data Engineer to join our team and lead the development of our centralized data platform. As a Lead Data Engineer, you will be responsible for coaching and growing a team of data engineers, leading the data engineering roadmap, and assuming a people leadership role to bring technical vision to the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Coach and grow a team of 5 data engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and growth.
- Lead the data engineering roadmap, ensuring project deliverables align with business objectives and timelines.
- Assume a people leadership role and bring technical vision to the team, map and set up data governance, ensure all data pipelines provide high-quality and fresh data to all Qontoers, and maintain a performant data model.
- Scale our Airflow monolith by splitting it into a module approach.
- Create real-time data products, crafting a streaming platform that leverages innovative technical solutions.
- Simplify and automate Data ingestion for Qonto.
- Decrease data ingestion incidents by collaborating with cross-functional teams, increasing data documentation and discoverability.
Requirements
- Strong leadership experience, managing data engineers, software engineers, or Analytics Engineers.
- Familiarity with data pipeline tools (airflow, dbt, etc.), stream-processing platforms (Kafka, Spark, Flow) modern data architectures, and data governance processes.
- Natural leadership ability to influence and drive initiatives across teams.
- Fluent in English. French is a plus.
