**About the Role**

At Walters People, we are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Legal Counsel to join our team. As a Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for providing legal advice and support to our business units, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and driving business growth through strategic legal solutions.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Deliver high-quality legal services to our business units, including contract review, negotiation, and drafting.
  • Provide expert advice on commercial transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and other business-related matters.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and mitigate legal risks, and develop strategies to drive business growth.
  • Manage and oversee external counsel, ensuring effective and efficient use of resources.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry developments, and provide guidance to the business on compliance matters.

**Requirements**

  • Minimum 10 years of experience as an in-house lawyer, preferably in a construction, oil and energy, or renewables and environment sector.
  • Native Spanish speaker, fluent in English, and proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
  • Experience working with international and multidisciplinary teams, with a strong understanding of how an in-house legal department operates.
