Position Overview

At Corteva Agriscience, we are dedicated to advancing the future of agriculture. In this role, you will be an integral part of our Government & Industry Affairs division, focusing on the advocacy strategy for Corteva in Chile.

This position will report to the Southern Cone Government & Industry Affairs leader and will be responsible for the formulation and execution of the advocacy strategy specific to Chile. Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing tailored government and industry affairs initiatives in Chile, aimed at fostering regulatory acceptance of our products and supporting essential business growth.
  • Collaborating with the Chile Risk Mitigation Team to address critical areas for the organization.
  • Engaging with local stakeholders while adhering to regulations to promote Corteva's interests.
  • Enhancing the company's reputation within political and regulatory frameworks.
  • Participating in key associations' Government Affairs task forces.
  • Providing insights to local operations regarding the external environment.
  • Coordinating community engagement initiatives for operational sites.
  • Focusing on priorities such as operational freedom, investment rights, market access, product regulation, customs, trade policy, and strategic partnerships.
  • Conducting all activities in alignment with Corteva's Core Values, ensuring the highest ethical standards and compliance with applicable laws.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate Corteva's vision to external stakeholders.
  • Identify significant political and non-technical risks relevant to Corteva and develop comprehensive advocacy strategies and engagement plans.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders pertinent to identified risks.
  • Utilize advocacy, intelligence gathering, and relationship management to support business objectives.
  • Advocate for Corteva's positions on legislative and regulatory matters, leveraging resources from various internal departments.
  • Represent Corteva in business-related associations and think tanks.
  • Collaborate with the International Government & Industry Affairs team to shape Corteva's global public policy positions.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • A minimum of five years of experience in government relations roles, with a diverse range of assignments.
  • Experience in a multinational corporation or association within innovative sectors, particularly in food and agriculture.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Government of Chile, multi-lateral agencies, trade associations, and the political and regulatory landscape.
  • Understanding of how government officials formulate and implement policy, with the ability to analyze and advocate corporate positions effectively.
  • Proven ability to manage stakeholder relationships, collaborate with government entities, and integrate political risk strategies into business plans.
  • Strong interpersonal, networking, and public speaking skills, with the confidence to communicate effectively.
  • High motivation and initiative to navigate complex environments.
  • Proficiency in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in budget management.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time.
