Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Research Engineer to join our team at the Quantum Flagship. The successful candidate will be working on projects related to classical and quantum photonic integrated circuits (PICs) and must have experience in the design, simulation, characterization, or packaging of PICs.
About the Role
The Research Engineer will be responsible for developing next-generation PIC-based technologies, ranging from classical photonic processing to quantum communication, sensing, and metrology. This includes the development of on-chip quantum key distribution transmitters, entangled pair sources, and single photon sources.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and simulation of PICs
- Characterization and packaging of PICs
- Development of next-generation PIC-based technologies
- Collaboration with the Optoelectronics group to advance the field of photonics
Requirements
- Internationally-recognized MSc.-equivalent degree in Physics or Engineering
- Experience in PIC simulation, fabrication, characterization, or packaging
- Strong understanding of photonic integrated circuits and their applications
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
