Manager of Site Procurement Activities

Are you interested in becoming part of a dynamic Global Procurement Organization that emphasizes Amazon Operations? By joining the Site Procurement Operations Team, you will have the chance to spearhead and execute strategic Procurement initiatives for our internal Business Partners at various levels including local, regional, national, and European.
As a Procurement Operations Site Manager, you will collaborate within a team-oriented environment alongside Internal Amazon stakeholders, diverse Procurement colleagues, and external suppliers to secure value-driven solutions for the Business.
Your role will involve engaging with a cross-functional team at one of our logistics locations, acting as a strategic Business Partner.
You will champion continuous enhancement, innovation, risk mitigation, and sustainability through your Procurement endeavors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess business requirements and ensure their validity, providing analysis and recommendations. Manage intricate projects with significant expenditures, risks, confidentiality, and time constraints in a complex environment across multiple sites;
- Establish strong stakeholder relationships, ensuring high service levels in analyzing project scopes, negotiating with suppliers on costs, lead times, and other critical factors for local, regional, national, and European projects;
- Leverage various applications and systems to deliver precise metrics, reporting, and data including supplier performance metrics. Enhance available tools to evaluate opportunities and risks concerning expenditures, categories, suppliers, and legal aspects;
- Oversee the Site Procurement Operations Process from needs identification and definition to contracting and implementation follow-up, including sourcing, supplier due diligence, negotiation, and risk assessment, utilizing Coupa (ERP) and other tools. Manage complex RFI and RFQ processes across multiple sites, business units, and potentially countries;
- Draft and execute contractual agreements such as Work Orders and Master Supply Agreements, ensuring vendor compliance. Manage contracts comprehensively through CLM (Contract Life Management);
- Support national and EU-wide procurement initiatives (tenders, cost optimization, sustainability, process enhancements, etc.), proactively collaborating with other Global Procurement Teams such as Category and Finance;
- Oversee Supplier Performance governance to maintain high service levels regarding lead time, quality, and maintenance, ensuring proper contract follow-up. Lead and support MBR/QBR as necessary and agreed upon with Supplier Management Pillar and Categories. This includes managing the invoicing and payment processes for Amazon and Vendors, implementing corrective and preventive measures as needed;
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for a local category to identify and capitalize on savings opportunities, conduct spend analysis, and assist in strategy formulation for the country network. Deliver additional monetary value by utilizing complex cost/revenue management strategies (operational savings, revenue generation, long-term contracts);
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to comprehend business needs and integrate Amazon's sustainability objectives by minimizing waste, reusing materials, and ensuring CSR compliance. Actively contribute to strategic EU-wide cross-functional teams and initiatives;
- Achieve targeted Key Performance Indicators to provide value for the business, including savings, financial metrics, sustainability, and compliance;
- Serve as an ambassador by ensuring adherence to the company Spending & Transaction policy, educating and promoting appropriate behaviors among business stakeholders regarding the internal procurement policy handbook. Internal customers include departments such as Operations, Finance, Engineering, and Legal;
- Act as Country SME for a significant category and/or extend SME responsibilities to the EU scope;
- Provide training to other Buyers on functional skills.
