Job Summary
Field Energy is seeking a highly skilled Grid Connection Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for developing, constructing, and operating renewable infrastructure projects globally.
About the Role
This is a newly created position within the team, driven by the ongoing growth of our project portfolio in Spain and the progress of projects throughout their development lifecycle. As a Grid Specialist, you will be exposed to all stages of the process, from wider strategy, feasibility, development of grid connections, and construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather intelligence and analyze the existing and future electricity network at transmission and distribution level to provide input into the location and electrical characteristics of new developments.
- Review transmission and distribution connection applications, working with OEMs to gather the information required for applications, and supervising application forms and associated documents for distribution network connection applications.
- Support the grid connection process for our portfolio of developments through the development and pre-construction phases, including regularly meeting REE/DNOs to track progress with developments, submitting Mod Apps and variations to DNO connection offers as required, and overseeing electrical/power system studies to assess fault rides through, voltage step change, and/or earthing design.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of the energy market and the ability to analyze complex data. You will also need to be able to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders, including REE/DNOs and OEMs.
