Data Engineer – Data Lakehouse

The Data Engineer – Data Lakehouse is a key role within our team at Vorwerk IT Services Iberica, responsible for designing and implementing data architectures that support business intelligence, data exploration, and advanced analytics.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Design and implement data integration and transformation processes to support data-driven applications and projects.
  2. Develop analysis-optimized data architectures based on data lakehouses and file-based storage systems.
  3. Ensure the scalability and parallelizability of data management processes.
  4. Establish an efficient operation of the data lakehouse.
  5. Prepare and provide data for Data Analysts, Business Engineers, and Data Scientists.

Challenges and Opportunities:

  1. Ensure seamless integration and consistency of data from diverse sources within the data lakehouse environment.
  2. Adhere to data management guidelines, standards, and processes specific to data lakehouses.
  3. Stay current with and implement the latest technologies in the rapidly evolving data lakehouse and analytics landscape.
  4. Provide and maintain scalable, secure, and efficient data lakehouse infrastructure on cloud platforms.
  5. Coordinate and communicate effectively to implement architectural principles and governance measures within data lakehouse projects.

Requirements:

  1. Several years of professional experience in developing backend or data management systems, ideally in upscaling, massively parallel environments.
  2. Very good knowledge of SQL and Python, as well as basics of cloud infrastructure.
  3. Good knowledge of integration and transformation processes, concepts, and technologies.
  4. Experience with cloud platforms highly desirable.
  5. Willingness to work in an international team.
  6. Good coordination and communication skills.
  7. Successfully completed Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or comparable.
  8. 3-5 years of professional experience as a Data Engineer.
  9. Structured thinking and very good analytical skills.
