The Data Engineer - Cloud Data Platform is responsible for designing and implementing a scalable and secure cloud-based data lakehouse architecture to support various analytical use cases and deliver data to business stakeholders for informed decision-making.
Main Responsibilities:
- Conceive and implement data integration and transformation processes to support data-driven applications, business intelligence, and data science projects.
- Develop analysis-optimized data architectures based on cloud-based data lakehouses and file-based storage systems.
- Ensure the scalability and parallelizability of data management processes.
- Establish an efficient operation of the cloud data lakehouse.
- Prepare and provide data for business analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders.
Key Challenges:
- Ensure seamless integration and consistency of data from diverse sources within the cloud data lakehouse environment.
- Adhere to data management guidelines, standards, and processes specific to cloud data lakehouses.
- Stay current with and implement the latest technologies in the rapidly evolving cloud data lakehouse and analytics landscape.
- Provide and maintain scalable, secure, and efficient cloud data lakehouse infrastructure.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively to implement architectural principles and governance measures within cloud data lakehouse projects.
Required Expertise and Skills:
- Several years of professional experience in developing backend or data management systems, ideally in cloud-based environments.
- Excellent knowledge of SQL, Python, and cloud infrastructure.
- Good knowledge of integration and transformation processes, concepts, and technologies.
- Experience with cloud platforms highly desirable.
- Willingness to work in an international team.
- Good coordination and communication skills.
- Successfully completed Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or comparable.
- 3-5 years of professional experience as a Data Engineer.
- Structured thinking and very good analytical skills.
