About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior System Test Engineer to join our team at Motorsport-Total GmbH. As a key member of our Testing Department, you will be responsible for the planning, execution, and reporting of McLaren body development and validation testing.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Test Planning and Execution: Plan and execute McLaren managed system and vehicle level body tests defined in the design validation plan (DVP).
  2. Test Rig Design and Execution: Design, build, commission, and execute system and vehicle rig tests to a high technical standard.
  3. Test Reporting and Data Analysis: Generate and maintain regular data-driven test and status reports.
  4. Failure Analysis: Conduct and support failure root cause analysis (RCA).
  5. Test Facility Management: Prospect, nominate, and coordinate outsourced test facility suppliers.
  6. Test Procedure Development: Create and maintain test procedures and strategies.
  7. Benchmarking and Testing: Plan and execute internal and competitor benchmarking tests.
  8. Test Data Management: Catalogue test data to aid system development and target setting.
  9. Programme Budget Management: Manage and report against programme testing budgets.
  10. Team Support: Support the System Test team in the development and validation of chassis, thermal, and powertrain systems.
Requirements
  1. Education: Engineering bachelor's degree 2:1 or above or relevant experience.
  2. Knowledge and Experience: Knowledge and experience in automotive body validation procedures.
  3. Test Rig Experience: First-hand experience in the design, build, commissioning, and running of test rigs including structural design and instrumentation for measurement, actuation, and data acquisition.
  4. Data Analysis: Experience with data analysis.
  5. Design Capability: Catia V5 design capability.
  6. Automotive Knowledge: Understanding of automotive body materials, technologies, and manufacturing processes.
  7. Root Cause Analysis: Proven experience in root cause and failure mode analysis.
  8. Legislation: Understanding of automotive legislation.
  9. Production Experience: Experience of low to medium volume vehicle production.
  10. Language: Fluency in English.
